UPA Athletes Team Up With Oakland Lacrosse Club!

Thanks to the incredible support from the Oakland Lacrosse Club and the leadership of Kevin Kelley, this November UPA students completed an exciting two-week introduction to the sport of lacrosse. Kevin, along with other volunteer coaches, supported our Physical Movement teachers, Coach Liz and Coach Peterson, helped kids quickly progress from basic drills to a fun and competitive game over the two weeks. Excitement spread across the campus as students talked about their newfound love for a sport that was invented by Native Americans almost 1000 years ago!

Now, UPA Jaguars who want to further pursue this sport will have the opportunity to play in a regional league with a scholarship that covers all costs! Thanks again to the volunteers and those who donated to the Oakland Lacrosse Club's fundraising to make this possible. Find out more about their middle school programs in this video.
